Full Hand Mehndi Design

Full Hand Mehndi Design: Mehndi is a traditional form of body art that is done on the hands and feet. It’s usually done during festivals like Diwali, Eid, and Navratri. Mehndi designs are typically simple motifs of flowers or leaves. The designs are traditionally created by using henna powder, which is made from drying and grinding the leaves of the henna tree.

Henna has many benefits beyond the aesthetic appeal it has on the hands. Henna can also help with hair growth, relieve stress, promote sleep, boost immunity, and more! This blog will teach you how to do an amazing mehndi design on your own hand in just five easy steps!

What is Mehndi?

Mehndi has been used for centuries in various cultures to adorn the body with designs that are aesthetically pleasing.

This form of body art, while often considered temporary, can last up to a month or more depending on skin type and other factors.

Selecting the Right Henna Powder

The first step to do amazing mehndi designs is to select the right henna powder. You want a henna powder that is natural, not mixed with tea or other dyes, has no added fragrance, and is made of pure dried leaves of the henna tree.

*It’s also important to make sure the henna powder you are using is 100% natural. You can do this by checking the ingredients on the package for any added dyes or fragrances. Many dyes and fragrances are not good for your skin so it’s important to avoid them.*

Preparing the Hand for Henna

Most henna artists will tell you that it’s important to prepare the skin before applying henna. This will ensure that the henna doesn’t stain the skin too dark, which could lead to skin irritation. The best way to prep your hand for henna is by exfoliating the skin with a loofah or scrub.

This should be done roughly ten minutes before you’re ready to apply your design. Exfoliating will help get rid of dead skin cells and allow the body to take in any nutrients provided by the henna paste.

The second step is finding gloves or socks that are tight enough so you don’t have to worry about getting dye on anything other than your hands. Putting on these items should be done while wearing latex gloves so there isn’t any chance of transferring any dye onto your fingers or fingernails.

Lastly, make sure your hands are clean and dry before you start application! The last thing you want is for dirt particles to mix with the dye and end up staining your design.

Designing the Mehndi Pattern

Before you can apply henna, you’ll need to design your pattern. If you’re looking for a simple mehndi design, try drawing a flower or leaf shape on your hand.

You might want to start with a single line from the base of the palm up to the top of the middle finger. From there, sketch a curvy line down and around the tip of the thumb. Draw a couple more curvy lines going back up along the sides of your hand. Lastly, dot in some leaves or flowers where they make sense.

For this example, we drew a flower with five petals going backwards from the bottom left corner of our palm and then some leaves following that design on our other hand. This is just one easy design that would look great as an easy mehndi!

Finishing Touches

In this final step, you can add a little sparkle to your mehndi design. If you want the same look as mine in the picture above, just add some gold glitter to your hands!

You may also want to add a little more henna paste to your design if you feel like it’s fading or needs more color.

You’re now finished with your mehndi design, and it looks stunning!

Conclusion

A little preparation goes a long way when it comes to applying Full Hand Mehndi Design. But the process can be easy and fun. With a bit of patience and a little know-how, you can have a mehndi design you love and a hand that’s mehndi-free.
