qualities and characteristics of a pious person

Allah SWT wants some superb qualities in humans to have. He is the one who bestows us with countless blessings. We must adopt those manners and characteristics which Allah SWT likes humanity should acquire. Pious persons are always in search of pleasing Allah in every hard or soothing situation. They only aim to get as much closer to Allah as they can.

No one on the earth ever found who have no desire to boost their status in the eyes of Allah. But, to reach the high level of righteousness, we need to follow some described set of decrees vivid from the Quran and Hadith. Remember that all the men are equal in the eyes of Allah SWT; the best of us is one who has the utmost zeal for earning virtues.

Furthermore, all men are equal. There is no difference based on color, race, creed. As Hazrat Muhammad SAW uttered in the last sermon: “All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action” (part of sermon).

However, only those who have high ranks are the most dedicated to the religion. There are some qualities for us to enact in our character and purify our spiritual behavior. Also learn about the Quran Classes.

Purification

Purification is considered a pillar in the acceptance of obligatory and ordinary deeds. No righteous deed is admissible in the court of Allah SWT, which they performed for pretending to be virtuous. In other words, Allah wants His folks to keep pure their inner and outer self and keep it free from any grudge and misery.

Kindness

The most renowned and vivid attribute of Allah SWT is kindness and mercy. That is why He loves those who show mercy on others. Those never can obtain an elevated rank in the eyes of Allah, who refuse to treat humanity with kindness and mercy. Get the idea from the Hadith read here.

Repentance

Allah loves those who regret after sinning. Those who seek forgiveness after committing a wrong deed find the love of Allah SWT; as Allah says in the Holy Quran: “God accepts the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterward; to them will God turn in mercy: For God is full of knowledge and wisdom” (4:17).

Patience

Life for us is the place for endurance, and Allah loves those who endure persistently and do not complain about the hardships they tolerate. As Allah vividly declares,  “Surely, Allah is with those that are patient.”

Tawakkul

One of the qualities of the pious people is they trust Allah without any hesitation and hope for the best from their Lord. They believe in Allah that one day they will receive the rewards of their bearings. They do not give up in any hard circumstances and consider it demonstration from Allah SWT: Surely, Allah loves those who trust” (3:159).

Justice

Allah SWT and Hazrat Muhammad SAW frequently instruct us in the Holy Quran and Hadith to stick to the principles of justice. Allah SWT says: “O you who believe, be upholders of justice – witnesses for Allah, even though against (the interest of) your selves or the parents, and the relatives. One may be rich or poor; Allah is the better caretaker of both. So do not follow desires, lest you should swerve. If you twist or avoid (the evidence), then, Allah is all-aware of what you do” [4:135].]

Righteous deeds

A man who strongly believes in Allah and seeks His pleasure always commits righteous deeds and avoids evil. He struggles to bring people closer to Allah and forbid them from showing back to the religion. Furthermore, virtuous people continue their righteous deeds without any break.

Humility

The deed which Allah likes the most is humbleness. Hazrat Muhammad SAW teaches us to remain calm and avoid pride and show humility. “The servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say words of peace” [25:63].
